It’s another weekend in August, and yet for a month that’s supposed to be slow as anything, it looks like we’re about to keep the momentum that saw us into this month in the first place. In particular, there’s a prestige candidate whose looking to get an early lead, a kid’s flick that’s trying to close out the season strong, and a horror film that’s gone from unknown to high priority. But who’s going to take the box office crown this weekend?

Well, let’s take a look at what’s coming, and find out as we ask every Friday, “Whaddya Got On Tap!”

August has finally darkened our door, Mixers, and our days at the outdoor Tiki Bar are numbered. So it’s time to start looking for those last summer thrills, as we head back into school season, and indoor entertainment season as well. Thankfully, there’s still some theatrical offerings to help us make the jump, and there’s a couple interesting options open to us this weekend. Let’s see what’s heading our way, and what we’ll be spending our hard earned box office allowances on this week.

Well, it’s the last weekend of July 2017 and we’ve got a pretty solid movie and one that literally looks like shit. It’s hard to look at The Emoji Movie with a straight face, but that’s what the box office is going to try and get us to do. Thankfully, there’s a blonde ass-kicker that’s here to save the day, and quite possibly this weekend of play. Let’s take a look at what’s opening this round as we ask you, like we do EVERY Friday, “Whaddya Got On Tap!”

It’s big weekend at the box office as the big movies continue rolling out. And CocktailsandMovies.com has it all covered here for you. None of the movies have had such a buzz since their first trailers than Dunkirk and Valerian. But, while the former is scoring really high on Rotten Tomatoes, the later has been divisive in its overall score. And, don’t forget about that little movie about a trip for the ladies with all the big names.

So, while you make plans on what to drink this weekend, we here to ask you, ” Whaddya Got On Tap?”

Apes Together Strong. But is Caesar’s legion powerful enough to head off teen horror AND a returning superhero?

Good Friday morning, Mixers! It feels like only a week ago, we were talking about how Spider-Man: Homecoming was the movie to beat. And, let history repeat itself, as superhero movie tend to show strong, but diminished returns. Of course, this is also the weekend War for the Planet of the Apes opens, which means there’s a chance that Caesar might be victorious.

But, while WFTPOTA will most likely win the box office, Spider-Man: Homecoming is still strong and we doubt that Apes will reach the $100 million mark. And will Wish Upon just end up as collateral damage in this box office fight?

Enough prologue, let’s talk shop inside as we bring you our recurring Friday segment: Whaddya Got On Tap?
