Cocktails for a Tuesday

Today in SoCal, it’s gray and foggy, so that’s what we’re drinking…

Looking outside the window today, it’s just begging for us to turn on the DVD player (yes, we are “old school”) and pop in a movie. But, it’s also a great day to imbibe a cocktail or two (or three) while watching said movie. We searched far and wide for a cocktail to make today that would keep us warm and refresh us as well. So, we found a variation of the classic cocktail the “Dark and Stormy.”

It’s calle the “Gray and Foggy.”

Here’s to curling up on the office couch under a blanket and watching a movie today.

Gray and Foggy Cocktail Gray and Foggy Cocktail

  • ¼ large lime (or ½ small lime)
  • up to ½ tsp. crushed ginger to taste, optional
  • 2 oz. black spiced rum (Kraken works just fine)
  • 4-6 oz. ginger beer (or substitute ginger ale)
  • lime wedges for garnish, optional
  1. In a 12-14 oz. glass, squeeze juice from lime wedges and toss in the lime pieces.
  2. Add crushed ginger and rum, and stir together.
  3. Fill glass nearly full with ice, and top with ginger beer.
  4. Garnish with lime wedge if desired.
