Disney’s Beast smashed the all time record for a PG movie opening, with a astounding $170+ million opening. Not only was this the largest PG opening, it was the FIRST $100+million opener of 2017. Logan still manages to stay in the third place, right behind Kong: Skull Island. And the fantastic horror/social commentary Get Out continues to be the nice surprise of the year, making another $13.2 million, brining it’s total box office $133.2 million (on only a $4.5 million budget). The only other new movie, The Belko Experiment, opened well below estimates in 7th place at $4 million.
