Release Date: July 24, 2014

Concept: An aging, out-of-work actress accepts one last job, though the consequences of her decision affect her in ways she didn’t consider.

Presentation/Spoilers: Crazy, thought provoking, insane and wildly imaginative.

Anticipation Factor: Really high. Robin Wright makes herself the main character in this idea of what fame is.

Release Date: September 5, 2014

Concept: A former Arizona Sheriff’s wife is killed while riding on their Ranch property. It would appear a Mexican man crossing in to the US illegally is at fault. As former Sheriff and current Sheriff search for answers, lives are changed forever.

Presentation/Spoilers: A pretty good trailer that shows just enough of the story to get you interested in this border story.

Anticipation Factor: Medium/high. Ed Harris and Michael Pena look solid in this story of justice.

Studio: Magnolia Pictures

Release Date: Open now, possible wider release coming.
Concept: A newsteam trails a man as he travels to an undisclosed location to find his missing sister. Upon entering “Eden Parish” and meeting the community’s leader, it becomes apparent to the newcomers that this paradise may not be as it seems.

Presentation/Spoilers: Creepy found footage style horror of a Jonestown-esque cult.

Anticipation Factor: Very high. This movie has been getting some great reviews.

The Giver The-Giver

Studio: The Weinstein Company

Release Date: August 15, 2014

Concept: In a seemingly perfect community, without war, pain, suffering, differences or choice, a young boy is chosen to learn from an elderly man about the true pain and pleasure of the “real” world.

Presentation/Spoilers: Standard “in the perfect future world, something is not as it seems” trailer.

Anticipation Factor: Medium. This has a built in audience as it comes from a best-seller. But, are people getting tire of the “perfect future world” movies?
