What a September, cocktailers!  IT has made almost $300 million, making it the biggest September movie ever. And that was on a $35 million budget. After a summer of failures and movies that didn’t click with audiences, September seemed to staunch the bleeding. As for the last weekend of September, three of the top 10 movies were new releases THIS weekend. And the top there were all within a few hundred thousand dollars of each other. What an epic battle!

Let’s take a look at the number and get into this morning as we bring you the Cocktails and Movies Monday Morning Hangover Report.

Before we get into the Report, let’s grab a cocktail and take a look at the box office numbers.

  1. It – $17.3 million
  2. American Made – $17 million
  3. Kingsman: The Golden Circle – $17 million
  4. The LEGO Ninjago Movie – $12 million

It! Lots of Cristal for his movie that just keeps scaring along! $291 million on a $35 million budget. Warner Brothers, you can have all the bottomless mimosas you want!

Flatliners. Just as I suspected

Battle of the SexesIt opened wider this weekend a saw a healthy return. It has Oscar bait on it, but it might be a little too early for that.

mother! What the bloody hell?

Well, what a great weekend at the box office to help out September and forget about this past summer. Apparently, people are ready to come back to the movies even though they have football now. It’s hard to get the taste of a bad box office out of our mouth this year, but Summer is over and we will be looking at the Fall 2017 movie slate this  week as well as preparing our newest venture: a podcast! We’d love to hear what you might like to hear from us on that, so emails us at with your requests and thoughts.

Well, that’s all from this Tuesday.  Make sure to follow us on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram for cool crap there as well!
