VR set to replace the top spot at the box office as Ready, Player One opens whaddya got on tap

Well, last week finally saw Black Panther yield the top spot after an impressive five-week run at number one to the fun Pacific Rim Uprising which also happened to be first event of the season. And, it looks like this week, we’ll see ANOTHER number one movie as Steven Spielberg returns to his big budget, sci-fi movie wheelhouse in the adaptation of the best-selling novel of the same name. Two other movies open that could make some noise on this long holiday weekend, so let’s see what’s new this week as we ask, like we do every Friday, “Whaddya Got On Tap?”

Just three wide releases for this week.

Duwayne’s Pick: Ready Player One! The day is finally here. One of the movies I have been eagerly awaiting for in 2018 since I saw the first trailer last year. I am a big Sci-Fi movie fan, but it’s the 80’s-90’s pop culture references that I am really going to enjoy. The story is amazing, the cast looks pretty good based on the trailers, the SFX are amazing, and it’s directed by Steven Spielberg …. what more could you ask!

Tim’s Pick: Ready Player One. I should have time to see this. Who knows maybe Ms. Cocktails and Movies will come with me.
