It’s a Bad Ass Female Agent vs. A Movie With A Shit Emoji

cocktailsandmovies.com whaddya got on tap 7.28.17

Well, it’s the last weekend of July 2017 and we’ve got a pretty solid movie and one that literally looks like shit. It’s hard to look at The Emoji Movie with a straight face, but that’s what the box office is going to try and get us to do. Thankfully, there’s a blonde ass-kicker that’s here to save the day, and quite possibly this weekend of play. Let’s take a look at what’s opening this round as we ask you, like we do EVERY Friday, “Whaddya Got On Tap!”

Only two new wide releases this weekend.

Duwayne’s Pick: Atomic Blonde! I have already seen this movie and it is awesome. Charlize Theron is great, and she is the next big action hero. And I am not talking just female, I am talking male as well. This movie has a lot of action, a great spy story with lots of twist & turns, and a 80’s soundtrack that rocks!

Mike’s Pick: Everyone’s going Atomic, and I definitely won’t turn that flick down, that’s for sure. However, I’m more curious to seek out Brigsby Bear, which is in limited release, and looks as out there as anything. As long as I’m not watching The Emoji Movie for a third time, I’m good.

Tim’s Pick: Atomic Blonde. I can’t wait until later mid week when I’ll finally see this.
