We’re at the last weekend on October, Mixers. November is upon us, and with that a rocket sled of holiday excitement, award season jockeying, and blockbuster bluster will be coming along with it. But for now, it’s still Halloween, and if it’s Halloween, it must be Saw! At least, that’s how it used to go around these parts. Seven years later though, the holiday is still up for grabs, waiting for a true franchise champion to claim it like Paranormal Activity once did. Could this be the year that brings Jigsaw back from the dead? Not if the competition has anything to say about it, so let’s get moving and see what’s on tap this weekend!

Are you sitting in your cubicle with stacks of TPS reports to go through? Listening to that conference call where everyone is talking at the same time about nothing at all that matters? Stuck at the water cooler hearing about Madea reigned supreme at the top spot of the box office! Need something to watch with that flask in your desk and that burned microwave popcorn from the break room? Let us share movie trailers with you. Now that the summer season is a distant image in our rear-view mirror, we have gotten a lot more movie trailers to view for this week’s The Thursday Trailer Tap

Boo scares up enough to take the top spot at the box office

Well, America, this is what you get. This is what you get when you don’t demand more and better from those that run the studios. When you have movies out there like Bladerunner 2049 and Battle of the Sexes, why do you need to go see Madea movies? There were five new movies in big release last weekend and only two of them fared well. We’ll get to all that in a minute or two.

Let’s take a look at the number and get into this morning as we bring you the Cocktails and Movies Monday Morning Hangover Report.

Will five OK movies lead to a bigger box office rather than one GOOD one?

If the 2017 box office could be described as anything, it’d best be a tale of many quarters. Spring was pretty good, the Summer SUCKED and now the Fall is a mixed back. Big movies like Bladerunner 2049 have fared poorly, while IT has surpassed everyone’s expectations. Now, we’re rapidly approaching the end of the year and we get mixed movies. There are still a few big ones to come out and of course the Oscar bait is still lurking out there.

But, this week seems to be a mishmash of funny, drama and outright outrageous. So, let’s grab a cocktail (maybe an Irish Coffee) and look at what the weekend offers and ask you, “Whaddya Got On Tap?”
