Good morning, mixers!

This Summer of 2017 can’t end fast enough for the studios. It’s been quite a misfire for everyone with a few diamonds that shone brightly, such as the wonderful Wonder Woman, the great Guardians of the Galaxy 2 and the amazing Spider-man:Homecoming. But, for those three jewels, there were the House‘s, the Baywatch’s and CHiPs. Disney was the huge winner this summer, as it continued to dominate almost every aspect of the film world. At the opposite end of the spectrum was Paramount, which always does poorly in the summer months, but fell short with Baywatch and Transformers: Last Knight (they DID do well overseas, though).

Still Wonderful – Wonder Woman Continues to Kick Ass

Wonder Woman Monday Morning Hangover Report
Good morning, mixers!

Well, the fantastic film adaptation of Wonder Woman still rules the box office, as three new challengers last weekend couldn’t defeat Diana Prince and company. The hope was for Tom Cruise’s The Mummy to come out on top, but the movie came in underperforming. The summer box office is off to a slow start, but big movies are slated and we’ll be posting our summer event schedule shortly.

New Movies Can’t Slow Fate. The Circle is Square

Good morning, mixers. Well, America loves the boys who drive really fast cars. Not that there was much competition this weekend.  Each of the newest movies were disappointing, despite ending up in the top five, except for Sleight, which disappointed immensely. So, we’ll give out more Cristal mimosas for the good people over at Universal. There was one big surprise (which I called last Friday), which we will get to later. But, all of this is going to change as Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 arrives and will probably take everyone’s money next weekend. It’ll take ours as we host another Cocktails and Movies event, this time at the famous Chinese Theater in Hollywood. Come join us!

Unforgettable is and The Promise doesn’t, while Fate still rules

Monday Morning Hangover Report
Good morning, mixers. Well, the boys who drive really fast cars can enjoy another Monday of  mimosas, as Fate of the Furious still rules the box office as expected. That might change in a couple of weekends. Okay, it WILL change with Guardians of the Galaxy 2 hitting theaters next Thursday night. But, how did the four new movies end up? Well, let’s just say that there’s a big call for bloody mary’s this morning…

Fate of the Furious revs to $100 million in debut

Fate of the furious submarine
Good morning, mixers. It was an impressive opening weekend for the boys and their toys. The gang came back in their really really fast cars and added a submarine to the tune of $100 milion+. It kicked everyone other film’s ass and did even better internationally. The rest of the films came in about as expected. So, no one deserves a bloody mary this weekend.
