Cocktails and Movies rogue-one-2Good Monday morning, mixers!

When Disney bought up Marvel and Lucasfilm, many felt it might destroy the product that both offered. But, now it looks like Disney knows what its doing with the franchises. Rogue One: A Star Wars Story blew away the competition and box office records en route to taking in $155 million domestic and $290 million around the world. And with no other new movies challenging it, it might stick around the top spot for weeks to come. Disney also had the number two movie AND Doctor Strange, which is still in the top ten.

Let’s take a look at what transpired this weekend at the box office in our Cocktails and Movies Weekend Wrap Up.

As if that wasn’t bad enough, this past weekend’s grosses sucked more than a recently revived vampire. Though this week will certainly brighten things up with a good does of Strange magic. For now though, let’s sift through the wreckage from the final weekend of October 2016.

Bad news, Mixers: it’s Monday. Don’t be too alarmed though, as we’re here to make things better with our usual recap. Though before we get started, we’d like to remind you West Coasters, Jet Setters, and swinger dancers that we’ve got an event coming that’s so money you don’t even know it! The York Manor in the Highland Park area of Los Angeles, is helping us host our first ever non-movie theater event, as we celebrate the 20th anniversary screening of Swingers next Wednesday, October 19th. Don’t be the PG-13 guy everyone’s rooting for… be the R-rated guy that comes out and celebrates an ultra cool flick, with a drink in your hand and the lines in your head.

And now, back to business…
