The Super Bowl always brings out movie trailers for the big Summer movies. This year is no exception, however they were often short and it was for movies that we have seen trailers for already. Which is good for me still, since the first five weeks of 2017 have given us only a few movie trailers to review every week. This week we have a lot of trailers for you. This week we have eight movies we are seeing movie trailers for the first time and nine movie we have previewed for you already.

We have the health spa with a sinister twist, a waitress deals with the loss of her boyfriend and hate issues for who he/she is. Arnold is back as a grieving father looking for an apology, the latest from our favorite lifeguards, an anime classic gets the live-action treatment, our favorite Guardians are back with some new friends, a family trying to survive in an end of the world environment, scientist find proof of alien life but will they survive to tell anyone, our favorite clawed mutant in his last movie, Jack Sparrow is back, young students battle an evil force at boarding school, the Fast & Furious movies get a big twist, a mental institute may have ulterior motives than healing its patients, the newest LEGO movie, two spouses find new loves but also find each other again, a young man tries to better his standing in life through his love for golf, and our favorite robots are back!

Are you sitting in your cubicle with stacks of TPS reports to go through? Listening to that conference call where everyone is talking at the same time about nothing at all that matters? Stuck at the water cooler hearing about all the big winners from the SAG/AFTRA Award show? Need something to watch with that flask in your desk and that burned microwave popcorn from the break room? Let us share something new with you.

The first month of the new year is in the books. As I have mentioned before the first two months of the year are pretty slow due to award nomination season. It does look like this week has begun to pick up a bit. This week we have four movies we are seeing movie trailers for the first time and four movies we have previewed for you already in the past. This week we have the final trailer for the latest Disney animation live-action movie, a young vacationing couple wake up and find themselves all alone, a preacher comes to town to weed out all the sinners, a young man struggles to form a union in 1930’s California, father and son dysfunction set in the lowrider lifestyle in Los Angeles, a young man falls under the spell of his older cousin who has other plans for him, a life and death battle set in the corporate office environment, and a young high school basketball prospect has more troubles than school and practice!

While El Jefe mixes himself another afternoon cocktail, let’s step up to the bar before he comes back.  So open your special drawer, fetch that secret stash of booze you’ve got hidden away and come see what will be in store for us moviegoers in the coming months!

I have EIGHT new trailers for you to sample from our Thursday Trailer Tap!

Are you sitting in your cubicle with stacks of TPS reports to go through? Listening to that conference call where everyone is talking at the same time about nothing at all that matters? Stuck at the water cooler hearing about which films and actors/actresses are getting nominations? Need something to watch with that flask in your desk and that burned microwave popcorn from the break room? Let us share something new with you.

This is the third week of 2017 and we are still slowly getting new movies in movie theatres. The first two months of the year are often reserved for studio bigwigs to get their movies, actors, directors, etc. nominated with lots of promotion. That means there is little time to promote upcoming movies. So just like last week, we have just a few movies to preview for you. This week we have one movie we are seeing movie trailers for five movies we have previewed for you already in the past. This week we see our favorite mutant for the last time, we have a vegetarian getting an unhealthy appetite for meat, a young man uses magic to help save his sister, a corporate offices becomes a battlefield, and a man finds out his ex-wife gives their child he didn’t know about away!

While El Jefe mixes himself another afternoon cocktail, let’s step up to the bar before he comes back.  So open your special drawer, fetch that secret stash of booze you’ve got hidden away and come see what will be in store for us moviegoers in the coming months!

I have FIVE new trailers for you to sample from our Thursday Trailer Tap!

Logan  LoganA

Studio: Fox
Release Date: March 3, 2017
Synopsis:
In the near future, a weary Logan cares for an ailing Professor X in a hide out on the Mexican border. But Logan’s attempts to hide from the world and his legacy are up-ended when a young mutant arrives, being pursued by dark forces.

Anticipation Factor: HIGH. What an awesome trailer! I LOVE the idea for the R-rated version of a Wolverine. I am surprised that we have not gotten one earlier but at least we got one. In the last trailer you could tell we were in for a different kind of story that previous X-Men movies. With this trailer we can see that we are in for some serious bloody & savage action, and it’s not just from our favorite mutant. That little girl adds a whole new interesting sub-plot to this movie and I’m loving it. This was really her trailer to shine. I am that more interested in seeing this movie. Let’s hope the next trailer showcases the Reavers and their leader Donald Pierce, played by Boyd Holbrook who has been putting in some solid performances lately.

Raw   (Red-Band)Raw

Studio: Focus World
Release Date: March 10, 2017
Synopsis:
When a young vegetarian undergoes a carnivorous hazing ritual at vet school, an unbidden taste for meat begins to grow in her.

Anticipation Factor: MEDIUM-HIGH. This is one freaky looking movie and I love it. Lol. I am liking the vegetarian to carnivore twist which slightly resembles a vampire storyline as well. There are some great camera shots and the director does a good job of creating an eerie but interesting looking movie. I missed out on this movie at the Beyond Fest last year, so this is a movie I am looking forward to seeing.

Sleight    SleightA

Studio: High Top Releasing
Release Date: April 7, 2017
Synopsis:
A young street magician is left to care for his little sister after their parents passing and turns to illegal activities to keep a roof over their heads. When he gets in too deep, his sister is kidnapped and he is forced to use his magic and brilliant mind to save her.

Anticipation Factor: MEDIUM-HIGH. I liked the teaser trailer but now we get a good look at the movie with this first full trailer. This movie reminds me of a little movie from awhile back I like called Fresh, with a substitution of chess for magic. As well as a movie called Chronicle that came out a few years ago. Although, it has a theme we have seen before, it gives it a nice updated twist to it. The SFX look pretty cool and the magic looks pretty believable. So this is a movie I can’t wait to see more of.

The Belko Experiment    TheBelkoExperimentA

Studio: High Top Releasing
Release Date:
March 17, 2017
Synopsis:
In a twisted social experiment, 80 Americans are locked in their high-rise corporate office in Bogotá, Colombia and ordered by an unknown voice coming from the company’s intercom system to participate in a deadly game of kill or be killed.

Anticipation Factor: MEDIUM. I like the updated twist of Battle Royale but set in a Corporate Office environment. I am sure that they are some of you have had some horrible co-workers and maybe dreamed of hitting one upside the head. Now you have a chance to alleviate some of those thoughts as well as stress. It’s not the best looking movie but it is a movie that will definitely be a guilty pleasure to watch. There will be a high and bloody body count so I know I will be there.

Wilson   WilsonA

Studio: Fox Searchlight
Release Date:
March 24, 2017
Synopsis:
A lonely, neurotic and hilariously honest middle-aged man reunites with his estranged wife and meets his teenage daughter for the first time.

Anticipation Factor: MEDIUM. This looks like a pretty wacky family drama. They have the perfect lead in Woody Harrelson who has played a diverse range of eccentric characters. Add in Laura Dern as his ex-wife is another great movie. The movie looks like it’s going to be crazy but maybe also has some good family drama as well.
